Ian Cunliffe is an illustrator who has spent many happy years creating characters and turning words into pictures. His cosy garden studio is filled with inks, paints and pencils, where he dreams up new ideas and brings them to life.

He loves making things that are funny or charming, and is often inspired by nature and the world around him. He enjoys writing rhymes and stories, letting little ideas grow into characters, pictures and things to make.

Ian is also a printmaker, designer and pop-up engineer who loves the hands-on fun of making things. He experiments with different materials and techniques, then combines them with digital tools to create his illustration artwork.

When he’s not drawing, writing or making, he loves being outdoors with his family and their much-loved Springer Spaniel, Coco.
